Teachers, Bring Your Innovative Ideas to Life with an IEF Grant

Do you have an idea that could spark curiosity, inspire creativity, or give students an experience they’ll never forget? The Irvington Education Foundation invites Irvington teachers and administrators to apply for an IEF Grant to make your vision a reality.

The IEF distributes funds for programs that enrich the educational experience of the district’s children above and beyond the limits of the public school budget.

The process: when you are ready, fill out an application grant (linked above) and submit it according to instructions. A member of the IEF Board will be in touch to discuss next steps. Grants are awarded annually, the deadline for the 2026 - 27 school year is February 2026.

Need Inspiration? Here are the types of student experiences IEF loves to support:

  • Author or Artist Visits – writers, illustrators, performers, or visual artists who engage students directly.
  • Field Trips & Experiential Learning – museum visits, environmental studies, historical tours, or other hands‑on learning outside the classroom.
  • Student Workshops or Residencies – theater, storytelling, music, STEM/STEAM, coding, or cultural residencies that immerse students in active learning.
  • Specialty Skill Development – programs that let students explore new skills like robotics, filmmaking, debate, public speaking, music composition, or engineering.
  • Performance or Competition Opportunities – support for participation in concerts, competitions, or collaborative showcases that expand real‑world learning.
  • Innovation & Creativity Projects – access to technology, creative tools, or maker‑style resources that allow students to design, build, or create something new.
  • Outdoor & Place‑Based Learning – school garden programs, nature exploration, local ecology studies, or citizen science projects.
